This week's CSA pickup got away unphotographed, because it was picked up and dropped off in the middle of a move. However, that doesn't mean we haven't already been eating it. Last night, after we'd moved all we could stand, we went out and got some grillables and had a feast, our first as a (short-lived) fivesome. My wives can whip up vegetable delights with their eyes closed, and did so with them open, so they were even better.
Full grill menu:
Andouille Sausages
Chicken legs with cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, dry mustard, and mangosteen concentrate (I think that stuff was really supposed to go into a smoothie or something, but it had been around a while and seemed like as good an idea as any)
Pattypan Squash
Roasted Turnips in Foil
Big Salad with garlic scapes and lettuces
Salmon with butter, agave, and lime
One garlic scape (a bit crispy, maybe marinate next time?)
Full CSA share for the week:
Two heads of lettuce, one green and one lovely red one
1 1/2 pounds white turnips
1 lb swiss chard
5 garlic scapes
bunch of scallions
2 heads bok choi
potted curly parsley
I don't think I've forgotten anything...at least it still seems like plenty in the fridge. Salad every day, from now on.
